Sha Zhou Flower Carp
Sha Zhou Flower Carp – A Guangdong Province renowned, specialty, high-quality, and new agricultural product
Flower Carp is a species of carp with a jet-black, translucent body, also known as Black Carp. It is primarily raised in rice paddies in the southern mountainous regions. The fish is named "Flower Carp" because it feeds on fallen rice flowers before being harvested, giving its meat a delicate floral aroma. Flower Carp is omnivorous, grows quickly, and has strong reproductive capabilities. It has few bones, is rich in flesh, has tender texture, soft bones, no fishy taste, and high protein content, typically weighing between 50-250 grams. During the Qing Dynasty’s Qianlong era, it was once an imperial tribute.
