Qingming herb The Qingming herb is the tender sprout of the daisy family plant Gnaphalium affine D.Den., also known as mouse ear grass or field mugwort. It is harvested before the Qingming Festival. The tender stems and leaves of the Qingming herb contain 85 grams of water, 3.1 grams of protein, 0.6 grams of fat, 7 grams of carbohydrates, 2.18 milligrams of calcium, 66 milligrams of phosphorus, 7.4 milligrams of iron, 2.19 milligrams of carotene, 0.24 milligrams of vitamin B2, 1.4 milligrams of niacin, 28 milligrams of vitamin C, as well as volatile oils and alkaloids.
The Qingming herb contains lipids, volatile oils, large amounts of carotene, small amounts of B vitamins, gnaphaliin, -, potassium chloride, and more. It has the effects of relieving coughs and calming wheezing, and lowering blood pressure. It can dilate local blood vessels and is used to treat non-infectious ulcers and wounds. Taken internally, it is used for chronic bronchitis, wheezing coughs, ulcer disease, rheumatic pain, and can also be used to treat high blood pressure.
