Changzhi Musical Instruments
Changzhi has a long history of musical instrument production. As early as the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Changzhi was already manufacturing percussion instruments such as gongs and cymbals. Current main products include gongs, cymbals, tam-tams, hi-hats, chau gongs, snare drums, traditional Chinese string instruments, violins and cellos (both full-size and smaller), guitars, and electronic keyboards. On July 22, 1991, a large gong with a diameter of 1.42 meters and weighing 70 kilograms was successfully forged, hailed as the “World’s Largest Gong.”
