Shuangshui Yellow-Skin Sugarcane

Yellow-skin sugarcane, named for its yellow rind, boasts thin skin, juicy flesh, a sweet taste, a fragrant floral aroma, and a delightful texture. It is one of the most beloved winter fruits. With a sweet flavor and cooling nature, it helps clear internal heat, relieve lung and stomach heat, and alleviate symptoms such as coughing with thick, yellow, and dense phlegm. Its sugar content is extremely rich, at approximately 18–20%. The sugars in yellow-skin sugarcane consist of three components—sucrose, fructose, and glucose—which are easily absorbed and utilized by the human body. It also contains abundant essential trace elements such as iron, calcium, phosphorus, manganese, and zinc. Among these, its iron content is particularly high, reaching 9 milligrams per kilogram, the highest among all fruits. As a result, yellow-skin sugarcane is often referred to as the "blood-enriching fruit."

The yellow-skin sugarcane produced in Shuangshui, Xinhui, is considered the finest of its kind, far surpassing those from other regions in quality. The sugarcane from Shuangshui features a yellowish-green rind, a perfect balance between softness and hardness, and an even better taste that appeals to both young and old. Meticulous agricultural management has contributed to the superior quality of Xinhui’s yellow-skin sugarcane, making this variety widely loved by many.
