Jiangxi Pearls

　　Jiangxi pearls have long been not only valuable ornaments but also prized floral materials, known for their medicinal benefits such as calming the nerves, clearing heat, invigorating yang, improving vision, detoxifying, and nourishing the skin. They have always been a luxury commodity in the international market. Jiangxi pearls are formed by the layering and accumulation of nacre secreted continuously by the epithelial cells of the mantle membrane of the triangle sail mussel produced in Jiangxi Province. Over time, more than 110 artificial pearl cultivation bases have been established around Poyang Lake, including in Xinjian, Nanchang, and Jinxian.
