Bamboo Vine Tuber

Bamboo Vine Tuber is one of the traditional agricultural products in our region and was once listed as a tribute item during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is mainly grown in towns such as Yanxi, Wanhe, and Tangzhou in Taihe County, and Qiaonan and Zuolong in Yongfeng County. The annual planting area is about 2,000 mu, with a total yield exceeding 3 million kilograms. This tuber is an annual climbing plant, with each tuber measuring approximately 50–60 centimeters in length, brownish skin, snow-white flesh, tender and delicious in taste. It is often paired with meat and is considered an excellent dish for meals.

Bamboo Vine Tuber is high-yielding and nutritious. A single tuber weighs around 0.5 kilograms, and the average yield per mu can reach 1,000–1,500 kilograms. In terms of nutrients, it contains 82% starch, 3% crude protein, 0.2% crude fat, and 0.4% crude fiber. Regular consumption helps strengthen the spleen and stomach, nourish the body, moisten the lungs, reduce greasiness, and aid digestion. Hence, it has long been known as the "ginseng of tubers" and is deeply loved by both children and the elderly.
