The Linjialing area in Zhouhu Township, Anfu County of this region boasts abundant felsic quartz deposits. According to exploration, the mineralized area covers approximately 1.7 square kilometers and belongs to a weathering crust-type deposit. Its structural composition is a natural combination of silica powder and silica sand. The deposit is transparent in color, high in grade, mostly white, with some sections appearing yellowish-white, yellow-brown, and red. Its whiteness reaches 69, specific gravity is 2.6, water absorption rate is 2.71–3.06%, saturated water content of silica powder is 33%, pH value is 6.3, refractoriness reaches 1790°C, and the specific surface area of silica powder is 3633.6 cm²/g. The reserves amount to 12 million tons, with a simple quartz composition containing 98.27–99.74% silicon dioxide and extremely low impurities. According to expert analysis, it is comparable to the “Tripoli” deposit in the United States. Its parent material is siliceous rock, and the microcrystalline quartz within the siliceous rock features a “triple point” structure, similar to the “Novaculite” of Arkansas, USA. It serves as an important raw material for industries such as ceramics, electrical porcelain, and metallurgy. Melting and glass production tests conducted by institutions including the Nanjing Fiberglass Research Institute of the National Building Materials Bureau and the Shanghai Glass Research Institute of the Ministry of Light Industry have demonstrated its high mining value. The felsic quartz deposits in the county have thin surface overburden, favorable mining conditions, convenient transportation, ample water supply, and easy access to fuel. However, due to limitations in funding and technology, they have not yet been developed and utilized.
