Yongxin Gypsum

　　Gypsum is one of the main raw materials in the cement industry and construction, used in plastering mortar, wallboards, ceilings, lath, cement retarders, and more. It is also an essential material in industries such as papermaking, sculpture, paint, medicine, and ceramics. The gypsum reserves in Shazhou Village, Gaoxi Township, Yongxin County, amount to 29.6228 million tons, making it rare within the province, including 9.1658 million tons of Grade B and 15.8687 million tons of Grade C. It is a large-scale anhydrite deposit containing dolomite. This deposit not only has abundant reserves and high grade, but also offers favorable mining conditions and convenient transportation (the mine site is just three kilometers from the railway). The supply of water, electricity, and fuel is guaranteed. It remains to be developed and utilized.
