　　“Pingnan Old Wine” refers to a type of yellow wine produced in Pingnan County, Fujian Province. This wine is made from the area’s unique mountain spring water, high-quality glutinous rice, and red yeast using traditional techniques combined with modern processes. It boasts a rich, mellow aroma, a sweet and refreshing taste, crystal-clear appearance, and leaves no dryness in the mouth. As a member of the yellow wine category, Pingnan Old Wine aligns with international drinking trends. According to *Compendium of Materia Medica*, yellow wine can “regulate blood circulation, promote qi flow, warm the stomach, and dispel cold.” Pingnan Old Wine contains beneficial nutrients for health such as glucose, amino acids, vitamins, and inorganic salts, making it an excellent choice for entertaining guests, giving gifts, and promoting wellness.

　　Pingnan Old Wine was quite well-known in eastern Fujian, but due to the lack of branding, yellow wines from other regions could also be sold as Pingnan Old Wine in the market. As a result, the product lost its distinctiveness, hindering further market expansion and limiting greater economic benefits for the local area. In the late 20th century, Longtan Commoners’ Winery was established in Pingnan, and later the “Huize Long” trademark was registered. Through improvements in brewing techniques and the influence of the brand, the local brewing industry grew rapidly. The winery not only became a leading enterprise at the county level, but the price of “Huize Long” branded Pingnan yellow wine also soared. High-quality old wine could sell for over 60 yuan per kilogram—15 times the original price. Thanks to corporate operations, the sales network quickly expanded to cities in southeastern China and Southeast Asia, with products consistently in high demand. In December 2010, after review by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, it was decided to implement national geographical indication product protection for “Pingnan Old Wine.”
