The production area of Shunhuang Yunjian, Shunhuang Mountain Village, is located on the eastern foothills of the Huashan Mountain range, surrounding the former site of Shunhuang Temple. It sits at an altitude of about 500 meters. The region is humid with abundant rainfall, receiving around 1,600 millimeters of precipitation annually and maintaining a relative humidity of over 80%. The soil is deep, loose, fertile, and classified as yellow loam. Frequent cloud cover and fog create diffused light, ideal for tea growth, providing superior natural conditions for producing high-quality tea. Renowned Chinese tea experts such as Liu Zhen, Qian Liang, Lü Yunfu, Shen Tujie, and Zhang Jiazhì have all conducted research in this area. In 1952, Soviet tea expert Bekhov Kharibava also visited Shunhuang Mountain for an on-site inspection.
