Tofu Steamed Buns
Tofu Steamed Buns
Introduction: Tofu steamed buns are the most famous snack in Shengzhou and not to be missed. Though called buns, they are only slightly larger than xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), with wrappers as thin as those of soup dumplings. The translucent skin encases a filling made of tender white crumbled tofu and meat aspic, and if made with extra care, shrimp brain may also be added.
When eating, pour some vinegar into a small dish, mix it with bright red chili sauce, dip the tofu bun in the sauce, and enjoy it bite by bite—exceptionally delicious.
