Inner Mongolia Youth Ecological Park

Inner Mongolia Youth Ecological Park is located north of Yijianfang Village in Youyouban Town, Hohhot, bordering Bokouzi Village to the west and adjacent to Hongshankou New Village in Xincheng District to the east, covering a total area of over 10,000 mu. The Youth Ecological Park broke ground on October 8, 2001. Over the past eight years, nearly 200 million RMB has been invested in the park. More than 3 million seedlings of over 30 species, including Chinese pine, spruce, oriental arborvitae, fast-growing arborvitae, ash, torch tree, and forsythia, have been planted, increasing the vegetation coverage from less than 10% at the beginning of construction to nearly 85% currently.

The internal facilities of Inner Mongolia Youth Ecological Park include: Green Ecological Square: featuring a cultural square, the "12.14 Heroes Monument," a youth stage, a cascading water pool, and a dry fountain, covering an area of about 100,000 square meters (including 20,000 square meters of paved surface). Water World: spanning nearly 20 mu with a water surface area of 6,000 square meters, equipped with water slides, artificial waterfalls, man-made beaches, and a leisure water bar, making it the largest open-air swimming venue in Hohhot. Off-road Kart Racing Track: built to international standards, with a 1,500-meter track and 15 off-road karts currently available. Youth Quality Development Training Base: includes activities such as rock climbing, the broken bridge, the Burma bridge, the sky ladder, trust falls, the escape wall, and "dependence for survival." It is the sixth such training base in China to be put into operation. The "Shenzhou V" Successful Return Memorial Sculpture is the only nationally approved sculpture in China symbolizing the Chinese nation's realization of the dream of spaceflight, officially completed in October 2004.

Projects under planning and construction include: a horticulture area primarily for youth ecological practices; a leisure vineyard designed in a garden style; a folk culture village reflecting Mongolian and Northwest Chinese customs (featuring a main yurt with a diameter of 30 meters and a height of 29 meters, capable of accommodating nearly 1,000 people for meals at the same time); a 200-mu self-service fruit picking garden in full fruit-bearing period, along with other functional areas and venues. Additionally, the "Home of the Little Hero Sisters of the Grassland" and the Hohhot Zoo project are also under planning. National Mother River Protection Action Ecological Education Base — Inner Mongolia Youth Ecological Park: classified as a national 3A-level tourist attraction. The park features lush trees and a fragrant environment with birdsong. Within the scenic area, the "Mongolian Camp" offers delicious Mongolian cuisine and spectacular ethnic song and dance performances. It is your top choice for outings, leisure, and getting close to nature. Currently, the ecological park has taken initial shape, and a series of natural and cultural landscapes will be successively built, making it the largest comprehensive youth activity base in western China with strong ethnic characteristics and prominent environmental functions.
