Phoenix Mountain Ski Resort

Phoenix Mountain Ski Resort is located in the southeastern suburbs of Yakeshi City, 16 kilometers from the city center, covering an area of 300 hectares, and is a national AA-level tourist attraction. From 2004 to 2006, the Yakeshi municipal government led an investment of 120 million yuan to develop and construct the largest ski resort in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, boasting the most comprehensive range of ski runs, the richest variety of snow activities, and the longest skiing season in China. The resort has four ski lifts catering to beginners, intermediates, and advanced skiers, including one 800-meter-long single-line circulating double-chairlift with a capacity of 500 people per hour — currently the most advanced lift in China. There are also two telescopic pull-rod lifts and one mobile lift, along with six ski runs totaling 5,800 meters in length.

Phoenix Mountain Ski Resort has been designated as a reserve talent base for the national Bayi Ski Team and a training base for the national Paralympic cross-country skiing team. The 2005–2006 National Youth Cross-Country Skiing Championships were held here. The resort has also consecutively hosted three editions of the Hulunbuir • China Ski Opening Festival and the 2006 Silver Hulunbuir • Yakeshi Phoenix Mountain Ski Festival along with the “Xindazhou” Cup China-Russia-Mongolia Three-Nation Ski Invitational Tournament.
