She Ethnic Culture Village

Lanxi She Ethnic Village is the only ethnic minority settlement in the Guangzhou area. Located on the western foothills of Luofu Mountain in the eastern part of Zhengguo Town, the village has a population of over 300, comprising three surnames—Pan, Lei, and Lai—who live in three natural hamlets: Xiashui, Tongkeng, and Rongshulu. It is the largest She ethnic settlement in the Guangzhou region. Although the village has undergone some Sinicization, the ethnic minority culture can still be observed. The She people have their own language, folk songs, and traditional attire, and are known for their skill in singing mountain songs. They also have their own totem worship practices.

The She Ethnic Village boasts many unique landscapes. Natural attractions include lychee orchards, peach blossom valleys, persimmon tree slopes, broom hills, pear blossom gullies, loquat valleys, maple tree slopes, ancient tree charm, and bamboo stream villages. Cultural attractions mainly consist of She-style architecture, cultural customs, and the Sulaogu Ancient Taoist Temple. Zengcheng City is currently planning an ecological tourism zone for the She Ethnic Village, with an initial design of 25 scenic spots and 8 premium sites. The eight planned premium attractions are: Lychee Grove at Dawn, Maple Bridge at Night, Millennium Ancient Stockade, Peach Blossom Valley, Heavenly Spring of She Village, Weighing Hook Vine, Moonlit Clear Pool, and Stone Stove of Heaven and Earth.
