Jiaoshi Ridge Forest Park
Jiaoshi Ridge is the highest peak near the urban area, with an elevation of 252 meters and a total area of approximately 6,000 mu. It lies within a typical South Asian tropical climate zone, enjoying fresh and cool air all year round. The average temperature at the mountaintop is 1.5–2.5 degrees lower than in the urban area, making winters mild and summers free of extreme heat. Jiaoshi Ridge boasts rich tourism resources, and its landscape is dominated by plant scenery — undulating, vast stretches of pristine secondary evergreen broadleaf forests, mixed coniferous and broadleaf forests, and pine woodlands remain lush year-round, offering unique ecological features and picturesque trails with scenic views around every corner.
Approved for establishment by the municipal government in November 2000, Jiaoshi Ridge Forest Park has a planned total area of 6,117 mu, with the initial development covering 1,800 mu. Construction began in September 2001, and over the years, the project has completed a mountain-looping road, stone stairways for hiking, wind and rain shelters, streetlights, public toilets, trash bins, stone benches, a convenience store, a mountaintop viewing platform, the South Gate Plaza infrastructure, as well as the planting of various ornamental and rare tree species.
As the supporting facilities of Jiaoshi Ridge Forest Park continue to improve and public awareness of leisure and fitness grows, the number of citizens visiting the park daily for hiking, recreation, and enjoying the natural oxygen bar is steadily increasing. According to incomplete statistics, more than a thousand visitors come to Jiaoshi Ridge Forest Park for leisure and fitness every day.
