Located on a natural wetland along the eastern bank of the Zengjiang River in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou, Crane Islet Wetland Park faces the Wild Goose Pagoda across the river and is closely bordered by the Phoenix Pagoda. Since ancient times, this area has been a habitat and gathering place for cranes. Thousands of white cranes can be seen foraging in the shallow waters or soaring through the sky, creating a serene and magnificent scene. The nearby Crane Islet Village derives its name from this.

Covering an area of about 250 acres, Crane Islet Wetland Park features lush lychee orchards that complement the surging Zengjiang River. On the grassy banks, amidst the dappled light of a shallow pool, stands a cluster of withered yet upright lychee trees. Their thick trunks and gnarled branches showcase the wonder of enduring life and the transcendent beauty of natural artistry.

Crane Islet actually has no walls or gates. It’s called a park because it’s truly beautiful, and there’s a cycling greenway passing through. The distance from here to the lake center island is about twenty to thirty kilometers.

With clear waters and beautiful natural scenery along both banks, the 250-acre “Crane Islet” Wetland Park is situated on the eastern bank of the Zengjiang River. Starting from Yan Tower Bridge, it has a 2.6-kilometer four-lane asphalt road, along with sidewalks and bicycle paths totaling 8 meters in width on both sides, offering a full view of the 1,000-meter stretch of the Zengjiang River. The park includes entrance archways, wooden small arch bridges, viewing platforms, fishing spots, lakeside cycling tracks, waterfront platforms, wooden boardwalks, rest stations, and more. The surrounding area is dotted with lychee orchards, vegetable farms, and fish ponds, presenting picturesque rural scenery.

The Crane Islet scenic area is located along a section of the Zengjiang River in Zengcheng’s new urban district, stretching approximately 8 kilometers with an area of about 30 square kilometers (including around 10 square kilometers of water surface). Attractions such as the Zengjiang Scenic Boulevard, Crane Islet Wetland Park, natural bathing beaches, observation promenades, boat clubs, the Guangzhou Water Sports Training Base, and Chuxi Sports Park create a beautiful scene of “a river that intoxicates all visitors, with blossoms on both banks overlooking the lychee countryside,” making it a beautiful sub-center and satellite city of Guangzhou.

In the future, leveraging the beautiful ecological environment along both banks of the Zengjiang River, an industrial belt with a total construction area of 230,000 square meters will be developed. Relying on the beautiful ecological setting of the Zengjiang River and anchored by a planned hotel cluster along the riverbanks, with mountain ranges and Lychee Lake at its core and the Zengjiang River as the connecting thread, this area will form an urban functional development belt integrating reception, conference leisure, vacation, sports, cultural exhibitions, and other urban functions.
