Guangzhou Lanpu Garden is located on Jiefang North Road in Yuexiu District, facing the picturesque Yuexiu Park across the street. Established in 1950, the garden covers a total area of about 40,000 square meters. Visitors to this small world of orchid artistry will find themselves immersed in a vibrant and diverse realm of orchids, temporarily escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.

Lanpu Garden can be described as the kingdom of orchids and is an ideal place to admire them. The garden is divided into eastern and western sections. The western section features Fanghua Garden and Mingjing Garden. The eastern section mainly cultivates orchids, with tens of thousands of plants and varieties. Among them are rare and precious species such as Big Lotus White, Big Phoenix Tail White, Cattleya, Dendrobium, Xian Dian White Ink, and Qi Jian White Ink. The garden has three main greenhouse areas: the first and third greenhouses primarily cultivate terrestrial orchids, which bloom in a riot of colors and fragrances during the flowering season. The second greenhouse mainly houses epiphytic orchids, which are vibrant but less fragrant. The garden environment is serene, featuring winding paths, corridors, fish ponds, flower stands, green lawns, and rockeries. Major attractions include Xiyin Pavilion, Orchid Fragrance Path Pavilion, Watching Fish Surpasses Fuchun River, Zhu De Poetry Stele, Bamboo Fence Cottage, Blue Spring Light Pavilion, Thousand Cliff Jade Pagoda, Wild Monk, Little Bridge and Stream Rhododendron Mountain, Fanghua Garden, and Mingjing Pavilion. Exotic flowers and plants abound here, offering visitors a constantly changing scenery that feels like stepping into a fairyland.

Over the years, Lanpu Garden has hosted heads of state from many countries, including the President of Czechoslovakia, the Deputy Prime Minister of North Yemen, the Queen of Denmark, U.S. President Nixon, the Norwegian Prime Minister, Emperor Haile Selassie I, and Norodom Sihanouk. Esteemed proletarian revolutionaries such as Zhu De and Dong Biwu visited Lanpu Garden and were inspired to write poems in its praise. Renowned artists and calligraphers such as Liu Haisu, Qi Gong, Yu Zhi Zheng, Rong Geng, and Hu Gentian also visited and left their artistic works here.
