The Tomb of Ren Xiao is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Tomb of Ren Xiao is a small earthen mound about 6 to 7 meters high, surrounded by ancient banyan trees, located within the scenic Garden Hotel in the bustling downtown area of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. This mound is the tomb of Ren Xiao.

During the Republican era, Huang Linshu, then Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, conducted research and concluded that Ren Xiao had served as the Commandant of Nanhai Commandery for many years and made outstanding contributions. Before his death, he entrusted the position of Commandant of Nanhai Commandery to Zhao Tuo, who gave Ren Xiao an honorable burial. In the "Hundred Poems on Nanhai," the entry for "Tomb of Ren Xiao" cites the "Panyu Magazine," which states: "The temple of Xiao is located about forty steps east of the road in front of the current Faxing Temple. The local people worship there annually, and the tomb lies beneath the temple." The Faxing Temple is today’s Guangxiao Temple, but both the tomb and the temple no longer exist. After meticulous research, Huang Linshu concluded that this was indeed the site of Ren Xiao’s tomb, and in June of the 25th year of the Republican era (1936), he erected a stele and composed an inscription to inform future generations. This inscription, spanning a thousand words, combines narrative and commentary, differing from typical stelae, which makes it particularly valuable.

In the 25th year of Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s reign (222 BC), he first led troops to attack the Lingnan region but was unsuccessful. Later, he and Zhao Tuo led another military campaign into Lingnan and unified the region in the 33rd year of Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s reign (214 BC). He became the first Commandant of Nanhai Commandery and oversaw the three commanderies of Nanhai, Xiang, and Guilin in the Lingnan region, thus earning the title "Commandant of the Southeast." He established Panyu (now Guangzhou, Guangdong) as the commandery seat and built the Panyu City near present-day Cangbian Road, historically referred to as "Ren Xiao City" (the origin of Guangzhou).
