Guangzhou Chunyuan
Guangzhou Chunyuan is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
Chunyuan, located at No. 22–26 Xinhepu Road, faces south with its back to the north. It consists of three identical three-story Western-style houses made of brick, stone, and concrete, each standing 13.5 meters tall, with each floor measuring 19.1 meters in depth and 9.8 meters in width. An octagonal concrete pavilion has been built on the rooftop terrace of Building No. 24. The entire compound is enclosed by a wall, and the three buildings are interconnected. The gate of the surrounding wall faces south, with a stone lion standing on each of the two pillars on either side, and the name “Chunyuan” is inscribed on the lintel. There is also a well in the courtyard. In June 1923, when the Communist Party of China held its Third National Congress, the CPC Central Committee moved its offices to Guangzhou, and Chunyuan became the site of its activities. During the Third National Congress of the CPC, it served as the residence of the congress delegates, with representatives of the Comintern, such as Maring, and attendees including Chen Duxiu, Li Dazhao, and Mao Zedong, staying on the second floor of Building No. 24. The exterior of the buildings remains well preserved. In 1993, it was designated as a Guangzhou Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit as a historic residential building.
