Former Site of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League and the Vietnamese Political Training Classes for Youth

The Former Site of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League and the Vietnamese Political Training Classes for Youth is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

The Former Site of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League and the Vietnamese Political Training Classes for Youth was the headquarters of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League, led by Vietnamese revolutionary Ho Chi Minh (later President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) during the Great Revolution period, as well as the location where the first and second sessions of the Vietnamese Political Training Classes for Youth were held. It is situated at Nos. 248 and 250 (formerly 13 and 13-1) Wenming Road, Guangzhou City, with a construction area of 387 square meters.

The site was originally a residential building, constructed in the 1920s. In November 1924, Ho Chi Minh came to Guangzhou from Moscow, publicly serving as an interpreter for Soviet advisor Borodin. Ho sought assistance from the Communist Party of China to make ideological and organizational preparations for establishing the Communist Party of Vietnam. In June 1925, based on the “Heart-to-Heart Society,” he founded the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League (the predecessor of the Communist Party of Vietnam) and initiated the Vietnamese Political Training Classes for Youth. He put forward a political program that called for overthrowing colonialism, striving for national independence, organizing a worker-peasant-soldier government, uniting the proletariat of all countries, and establishing a communist society.

On November 8, 2008, the General Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued the “Notice on the Announcement of the Fifth Batch of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Units,” and the Former Site of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League and the Vietnamese Political Training Classes for Youth was included in the list of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Units.
