"Foshan" Stone Memorial Archway

The "Foshan" Stone Memorial Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangzhou City.

The "Foshan" Stone Memorial Archway is located beneath the "Ancient Chuting" memorial archway in Yuexiu Park. Originally built in the sixth year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1826), it was renovated in the third year of the Guangxu reign (1877). It is a granite structure with four pillars, three bays, and one story. In the third year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1405), a Guanyin Pavilion was built atop this hill, which was later converted into a Buddhist temple. The characters "Foshan" on this archway are believed to be related to this temple.

It stretches from Donghaochong in the east to Dongfeng Road in the south, borders Xiaobei Road to the west, and is adjacent to Huanshi Road to the north, covering an area of 1.52 square kilometers. Major roads within the subdistrict include Dongfeng Road, Huanshi Road, Xiaobei Road, Yingyuan Road, Yuexiu North Road, and Fajiao Road. The subdistrict administers 11 community residents' committees: Deyuanli, Danguili, Hongqingfang, Yingyuan, Doufuliao, Sanyanjing, Yuexiushan, Tianxiu, Beiyuan, Mazhuangxiang, and Fajiao.
