Yu Garden

Yu Garden is a Guangzhou Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Yu Garden is located at No. 42 and 44 Sibeitongjin, Yuexiu District. It was built in 1930.

The distinctive feature of Dongshan-style buildings is their use of heavy red bricks as the main tone, setting them apart from the blue bricks of Xiguan. Yu Garden at No. 42 Sibeitongjin is a representative example. The owner of Yu Garden was the famous naval shipbuilding expert Wu Jingying, who at the time was the director of shipbuilding for the National Revolutionary Navy. He also personally designed the building. It was constructed around 1931.

In July 1999, it was designated as part of the fifth batch of Guangzhou Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Units by the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government.
