remaining individuals), as well as other rare animals in the reserve including the great bustard and golden eagle (both Class I nationally protected), and the demoiselle crane, kite (also known as eagle or harrier), and Mongolian gazelle (all Class II nationally protected). The landscape of the reserve mainly consists of mountains, hills, sandy areas, and high plateaus. It is home to

herding households, with an economy primarily based on animal husbandry and over 30,000 livestock.
