China’s Liu Yuxi Memorial Hall serves as a patriotic education base.

The Liu Yuxi Memorial Hall, situated on Yanxi Mountain at Lianzhou Middle School, boasts upturned eaves, corbel brackets, and vermilion pillars, embodying the essence of classical Chinese palace architecture with its timeless charm. After careful curation, this dignified and imposing memorial captivates visitors with its enchanting display—where lighting, murals, poetry, and bronze statues come together to evoke a rich tapestry of historical depth.

The first floor houses a statue of Liu Yuxi, his poetic works, and exhibitions of historical sites, notably featuring over ten exquisite Chinese paintings inspired by selected verses he composed in Lianzhou. Created over two months, these artworks vividly depict his legacy in the region—a highlight of the exhibit. The entire first floor systematically restores, through artistic means, the changes and contributions Liu Yuxi brought during his four-and-a-half-year stay in Lianzhou. The second floor is a comprehensive exhibition hall showcasing Lianzhou’s history and culture, while the third floor displays the city’s modern and contemporary achievements. Upon opening, the memorial hall will become a key cultural project and new tourist attraction in Lianzhou.
