Former Residence of Feng Dafei

The former residence of Feng Dafei is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

The former residence of Feng Dafei is located at Doupingdi (now renamed Dafei Lane), Dongbei Town, Lianzhou City. Built in the eighth year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1882), it is a single-story building made of brick and wood, featuring three bays and a flush gable roof. It is 10.24 meters wide, 14 meters deep, and 7.5 meters high. There is a courtyard between the front gate and the main hall, with side rooms on both sides, and a horizontal plaque awarded by the Lian County People's Government in 1950 inscribed with “Home of Glory” is hung in the main hall.

Feng Dafei (1899–1941), from Dongbei (now part of Lianzhou City), Lian County, joined the Communist Party of China during the First Revolutionary Civil War of China. He was a student at the Whampoa Military Academy and studied abroad in the Soviet Union. After returning to China in 1929, he worked in Guangxi and participated in the Baise Uprising in December of the same year. He held various positions including Commander of the Second Column of the Seventh Red Army, President of the Fourth Red Army School of the Xianggan Military District, and Acting Commander of the Eighth Red Army. He died a martyr during the Southern Anhui Incident in 1941.

On July 17, 2002, it was included in the fourth batch of cultural relic protection units of Guangdong Province.

Feng Dafei (1899–1942)

Feng Dafei, also known as Guochen, was from Lian County, Guangdong. In the eighth year of the Republic of China (1919), while studying at Lianzhou Middle School, he participated in organizing student movements in support of the May Fourth Movement in Beijing. After graduating from middle school, he was admitted to the Guangdong Army Surveying and Mapping School and later transferred to the Xijiang Military Preparatory School. He graduated in the eleventh year of the Republic of China and served as a second lieutenant in the Guangdong Army. In the thirteenth year of the Republic, he resigned to enroll in the Whampoa Military Academy, where he joined the Communist Party of China that winter. The following February, he participated in the First Eastern Expedition and in March was sent to study at the Guangdong Aviation School.
