Lianzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Lianzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is a cultural heritage site under Lianzhou’s protection, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The Lianzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located 170 meters east of Lianzhou Middle School. Built in 1958 to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives in various struggles throughout Lianzhou’s history, it was relocated and expanded in 1997 to its current site.

The monument faces south and is oriented northward, consisting of a base, a pedestal, and the main body. It is covered with granite ceramic tiles, and the main body is inlaid with bronze lettering that reads “Lianzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument.” The base is surrounded by white marble railings.

The Lianzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument has been designated as a patriotic and traditional education base in Qingyuan City.

In 1996, the Lianzhou Municipal People's Government listed it as one of the first batch of cultural heritage sites under Lianzhou’s protection, safeguarded by the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Cultural Relics.

Lianzhou Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Lianzhou City. It is the seat of the municipal government. Established as the Lianzhou Commune in 1958 and upgraded to a town in 1968, it covers an area of 104.8 square kilometers with a population of 97,000. National Highway 107 passes through the town, and the Lianjiang River is navigable. It administers 17 management districts (village committees): Longkou, Xiemin, Shazigang, Longzui, Nitán, Mandi, Yuantan, Sangu Tan, Liangjiang, Gaodui, Banling, Jin Feng, Shen Shuidong, Chengdong, Chengnan, Chengxi, and Chengbei, as well as three sub-district offices: Beihu, Nanmen, and Dongshan.
