In Romania, there is also a waterfall that can leave you in awe — one that is quite different from any we’ve seen before. It is precisely because of its uniqueness that it has captured the attention of people around the world. This is the Bigar Waterfall.

Bigar Waterfall is nestled within the jungles of the Anina Mountains in Caraș-Severin County, Romania. The phrase “a crystal curtain hanging halfway down the mountain, as if the Milky Way had descended from the heavens” best describes this waterfall. Resembling the crystal curtain outside the Water Curtain Cave where Sun Wukong lived in *Journey to the West*, this beautiful waterfall is formed by underground springs flowing into the Minis River. Before merging with the river, the groundwater must pass through a towering rock formation in the middle of the stream. The water cascades down the top of the rock, creating the breathtaking crystal curtain-like waterfall we see today.

As water flows over the rocks year-round, it gradually becomes covered in green moss. The vibrant green moss combined with the delicate white streams creates one of the gentlest and most beautiful waterfall landscapes in the world.
