Brașov

Brașov is the capital and administrative center of Brașov County in Romania, located in the southern part of Transylvania and surrounded by the Southern Carpathian Mountains. It is the seventh-largest city in Romania and is renowned as the birthplace of the Romanian national anthem. Additionally, it enjoys global fame for hosting the "Golden Stag International Pop Music Festival."

Brașov boasts numerous historical buildings, including several that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of the most famous is the local "Black Church," which attracts many foreign visitors. Built by the city’s German community, the Black Church is Romania’s premier example of Gothic architecture and one of the country’s most important Lutheran churches. The city is also home to a castle that, according to legend, was once inhabited by the vampire Dracula, drawing countless tourists eager to explore the myth. Thanks to its location at the foot of the Southern Carpathian Mountains, Brașov’s mountain scenery is also a major tourist draw.

Since 1968, the city has been the host of the "Golden Stag International Pop Music Festival," which has been held sixteen times to date. This event attracts numerous international visitors every year.
