Arad

Arad is located on the right bank of the Mureș River and serves as the capital of Arad County in Romania. It is an important industrial and transportation hub. The city ranks as the twelfth largest in Romania and the third largest in western Romania, after Oradea and Timișoara.

Arad is a city rich in heritage, characterized by breathtaking natural landscapes, historic architectural monuments, heritage sites, centuries-old historical buildings, and solemn religious structures. Lush forests, tranquil lakes, and expansive vineyard scenery provide ideal places to connect with and enjoy nature, whether for family outings or relaxation. The Neumann Palace, an eclectic-style building constructed between 1891 and 1892, was the largest structure in the city for a long time. The Serbian Orthodox Church of Saints Peter and Paul, situated in Serbian Square, was built between 1698 and 1702 in the early Baroque style and is one of the oldest buildings in Arad. Other notable sites include the Pădureni Monastery, the Red Church, and the Saint Simon Monastery.
