Petroșani
Petroșani is a city in western Romania, located 62 kilometers from the capital city of Deva. It is governed by Hunedoara County and was established in the 17th century. Initially, it had a small population, but the city experienced rapid growth in the 20th century and now has a population of around thirty thousand.
Petroșani is the gateway to Retezat National Park, which boasts over 60 peaks and more than 100 clear glacial lakes, and is home to more than 1,190 species of plants and 130 species of animals. The city also features numerous historic buildings, including the Old Theater built in 1886, the Holy Angels Church from the 18th century, the serene Central Park, the Courthouse constructed in 1910, and the Unitarian Church built between 1924 and 1928.
