The Millennium Elm of Chahar
The millennium elm is located near the Chahar Volcanic Group in Wulanhad Subdistrict, Urad Rear Banner, Chahar region. Standing about 12 meters tall, covering an area of nearly 600 square meters, with a diameter of around 2 meters, it takes five people holding hands to encircle the tree, earning it the title of the King of Elms. Experts have determined its age to be around 1,200 years, making it extremely rare on the Mongolian Plateau. Local herders revere it as the Sacred Shangxi Tree and hold a grand worship ceremony every summer.
