The Slovak National Theatre is Slovakia's oldest professional theatre, primarily consisting of three performance venues: opera, ballet, and drama. The old theatre, built in the Neo-Renaissance architectural style, is located in the Old Town of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, and mainly hosts opera and ballet performances, while the drama performances take place at the New Slovak National Theatre.

The Old Slovak National Theatre is an early classical theatre, built in 1776 and redesigned in the Neo-Renaissance style between 1884 and 1886 by Viennese architects. The entire building exudes a strong sense of Western classicism. The New Slovak National Theatre is a modern venue located in Bratislava, officially opened on April 14, 2007, with a maximum capacity of 1,700 spectators. The new theatre features a modern design, advanced facilities, and a stylish, grand atmosphere. Today, both national theatres are in operation, presenting captivating operas, ballets, and dramas to audiences from both home and abroad.
