Budapest City Park was established in 1817 and covers an area of approximately one square kilometer, making it the largest park in Budapest. Unlike the tranquil Margaret Island on the Danube, this park features hot springs, a zoo, an amusement park, and a botanical garden—making it a versatile destination suitable for all ages.

The park is home to an Agricultural Museum built in a composite style of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. The thermal swimming pools in City Park are a must-visit for spa enthusiasts. Among the several well-known thermal baths in Budapest, Széchenyi Thermal Bath in City Park has a history of over 100 years. It consists of three large outdoor public pools and dozens of distinctive indoor smaller pools. Known for its stunning scenery and excellent facilities, this bath ranks among the top and attracts both locals and tourists who come to experience Budapest’s famous communal bathing culture.

The park's buildings blend Hungary’s straight-line architectural style with oriental romanticism. Among the most beautiful is the Elephant House, which, after renovation, won the “Our Europe” award. Adjacent to the zoo is the amusement park, where the Ferris wheel swing ride also received the “Our Europe” award, making it a highlight worth visiting and trying out in City Park.
