Harbor Windmills

Introduction The Harbor Windmills were built in the 16th century and have thatched roofs. They are another iconic symbol of Mykonos Island. Located on the hillside of Mykonos, they offer a panoramic view of the entire town. As the windmills turn in the sea breeze, you can see seagulls over the Aegean Sea and the island’s distinctive white houses. Mykonos is thus also known as the “Island of Windmills.” Transportation Walk north from the central square along the uphill path for about 10 minutes.
