Newmarket Racecourse is located in the town of Newmarket, Suffolk, England. It is the birthplace of British horse racing — the site of the first race held under written rules in 1664. Newmarket boasts the largest horse training grounds in the UK and hosts many key racing organizations. Newmarket Racecourse has two sub-courses — the Rowley Mile and the July Course, both expansive tracks used exclusively for flat racing.

The main feature of the Rowley Mile course is a straight mile and two furlongs with slight undulations, where the penultimate furlong is downhill and the final furlong is uphill, creating an undulating finish. The July Course, on the other hand, features a straight mile that, after two furlongs, leads into a long downhill section, followed by a climb up the final furlong to complete the race. The Rowley Mile is primarily used for local spring and autumn races, while the July Course is mainly for summer events.

The sides of the tracks and the stands at each venue are filled with excited spectators and racing enthusiasts, along with tea and dining facilities, not to mention the thunderous cheers and applause. Some summer races also feature evening events and live band performances. The regular racing season typically runs from May to November, with ticket prices varying.
