The park was created with the original intention of allowing people to observe African wildlife up close. Africa Reborn Zoo is situated in the Kessingland area of Suffolk, England. It is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria, and the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and is very popular among visitors.

Africa Reborn Zoo was first established in 1991 and was renamed to its current name on March 21, 2006. It covers an area of 80 acres. As the name suggests, it is a zoo themed around African animals. The animals in the park mainly fall into four categories: primates, mammals, birds, and reptiles and invertebrates. Among them, the primates include mongoose lemurs, white-tailed lemurs, chimpanzees, savanna monkeys, colobus monkeys, black-and-white ruffed lemurs, crowned lemurs, and red-bellied lemurs. The mammals include fishing cats, African crested porcupines, aardvarks, meerkats, Cameroon sheep, striped hyenas, Somali wild asses, Congo buffalo, African lions, white rhinoceroses, servals, greater kudus, and guinea pigs. Birds include flamingos, East African crowned cranes, demoiselle cranes, white storks, helmeted guineafowl, Kenya eagle-owls, African grey parrots, and ostriches. The reptiles and invertebrates include ball pythons, giant African land snails, leopard tortoises, and spurred tortoises.
