Ipswich is located at the mouth of the River Orwell and is a town in Suffolk, eastern England. The town has a long history — during the Roman Empire, it was a key route to outlying towns via the Orwell and Gipping rivers; by the Anglo-Saxon period, it had grown into a sizable settlement and was a stronghold on the road from London to York.

Ipswich is a rapidly developing and livable city, and a great destination for numerous renowned artists. Among them, Christchurch Mansion stands out, showcasing exquisite paintings by Suffolk artists as well as a wealth of works by Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable. The Ipswich Transport Museum, which opened in 1995 and is dedicated to collecting road vehicles once used and manufactured locally, is also worth a visit. It houses a number of trams, trolleybuses, and TV buses, along with a specialized archive displaying uniforms from different eras of transportation.
