Loughborough is a town in Charnwood District, Leicestershire, East Midlands, England. It is the largest town in the county, as well as the administrative center of Charnwood District and the home of Loughborough University.

Loughborough became the destination of the world’s first all-inclusive tour group in 1841 and is also home to the world’s largest bell foundry — John Taylor & Co, which produced the bells for the town’s significant landmark, the War Memorial. Visitors to the Bell Foundry Museum can learn about the history of bell-making and see a variety of bells from different eras, with opportunities to ring some of them. The Great Central Railway is a must-visit railway heritage site where you can see early full-size steam trains and traditional trains pass by. The Railway Centre also houses several historic locomotives. The War Memorial Clock Tower, erected in 1923 to honor those who died in World War I, the Loughborough Canal Festival held every May since 1997, the bustling pedestrianized Market Place shopping center, vibrant open-air markets, unique Art Deco architecture, and the Loughborough Town Hall, which hosts major events, are all worth visiting.
