Formerly known as Cheltenham Spa, Cheltenham is a borough in Gloucestershire, England. The town is renowned for its mineral springs and boasts a large spa resort area. It also hosts numerous important national and international festivals, such as the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, the Cheltenham Literature Festival, and the Cheltenham Food Festival.

The Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum, located in the Regency building on Clarence Street, is an important museum in the area. It houses a valuable collection of art and crafts, including furniture, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, silverware, jewelry, as well as fine paintings, porcelain, and costumes. The renowned Cheltenham Racecourse is situated beneath the steep slopes of the Cotswolds and is a natural amphitheater that can accommodate over 67,000 spectators. With its beautiful scenery and thrilling horse races on both historic and modern tracks, it attracts many visitors. In May 2012, British Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Phillips, also participated in the Olympic torch relay for the London Olympics here. Other must-visits include St. Mary’s Church, the Everyman Theatre Cheltenham, the picturesque Cotswold Hills, and the Imperial Gardens.
