Liverpool Museum

Liverpool Museum is located on the banks of the River Mersey in Liverpool, UK. As the newest addition to the National Museums Liverpool family, it opened in 2011, replacing the former Museum of Liverpool Life. The museum was designed by the British architectural firm 3XN, and is one of the largest and most prestigious projects in the firm’s 25-year history.

Liverpool Museum showcases the city’s significance both in the UK and globally through its unique cultural, geographical, and historical perspectives. The museum is divided into four major thematic exhibitions: The Great Port, International City Gallery, People's Republic, and The Wondrous City. The International City Gallery highlights Liverpool’s connections with West Africa, China, and other countries; People's Republic explores how over 200 years of social change have profoundly impacted the people of Liverpool; and The Wondrous City celebrates the outstanding contributions made by Liverpool’s writers, performing artists, musicians, visual artists, theatre professionals, and sports figures.

The outdoor area of Liverpool Museum offers seating with views of the riverside, adding vibrancy to the urban environment while serving as a gathering place for both locals and visitors.
