North West Road Transport Museum

The North West Road Transport Museum was formerly also known as the "St Helens Transport Museum" or the "St Helens Bus Museum." Located in St Helens, Merseyside, it opened in 1991 and is a museum focused on collecting vintage buses.

The museum’s history can be traced back to 1981, when a group of bus enthusiasts raised funds to preserve a trolleybus in St Helens, which led to the establishment of this significant museum. The museum aims to tell the story of the development of public transportation in the northwest of England and the profound changes it has brought to people's lives through its bus exhibitions. The collection includes buses from local passenger transport companies such as those in St Helens, Liverpool, Widnes, and Chester. In addition to a wide variety of buses, the museum also houses vintage cars, trucks, and fire engines.

Since its opening to the public, it has attracted over 30,000 visitors. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 16:00, and on the first Sunday of every month, visitors can ride the museum’s buses for free.
