Jomfruland Island is a long, narrow island approximately 7.5 kilometers in length, located not far off the coast of the town of Kragerø in Telemark County, Norway. With its stunning natural scenery and expansive, gentle sandy beaches, it attracts a large number of visitors year-round.

In the middle of Jomfruland Island, there are two white lighthouses—one old and one new. The old one has been decommissioned, while the new one is still in use. They are the most eye-catching landmarks on the island and can be seen from afar in all directions. Visitors can reach the island by water taxi, vehicle ferry, or private boat, and there are several passenger harbors scattered across the island.

Jomfruland Island is filled with beautiful sights, including soft sandy beaches, harbor restaurants, pebble beaches in the northern part of the island, and scenic hiking trails. What makes Jomfruland Island most famous is the presence of European anemones that grow here. It was also the filming location for the renowned 1995 Norwegian film "Kristin Lavransdatter." Every spring, around early May, blooming white anemones spread across every corner of the island, creating a breathtaking view. The island’s favorable climate and lush coastal vegetation attract over 300 species of birds to nest here, filling the air with birdsong and floral scents.
