Introduction One of the best-preserved and longest defensive walls in Switzerland. Built in the 14th century, over 900 meters of the wall still stand today, featuring nine watchtowers of various styles. Currently, only three of the towers—Männliturm, Zeitturm, and Schirmerturm—are open to the public (not in winter).

The clock built by Hans Luter on the Zyt Tower in 1535 is the oldest clock in the city and has the privilege of chiming one minute earlier than the other clocks. The wall offers the best views of Lucerne. Ticket/Opening Hours Tower opening hours: Easter (the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox; the date varies each year, generally between March 22 and April 25) – November 1, 8:00–19:00.
