Light of Taiwan — Wu Pao-chun Awarded “UIBC 2016 World’s Best Baker”

Recommended by the Taipei Pastry & Bakery Association, Taiwan’s baking luminary Wu Pao-chun traveled to Brazil to receive the “UIBC 2016 World’s Best Baker” award. Wu expressed his gratitude to the Taipei Pastry & Bakery Association for the nomination, which enabled him to represent Taiwan in winning this honor. However, he emphasized that this was not just a personal achievement but rather recognition from the UIBC for Taiwan’s entire baking industry.

The “UIBC 2016 World’s Best Baker” award was established by the UIBC in 2010 in Lucerne, Switzerland. Since 2010, the UIBC Executive Board has annually awarded the title of “World’s Best Baker” to exceptional professionals in the baking industry. Candidates for the award must be active, independent professionals under the age of fifty who own their own bakery, have received professional vocational training, and possess a successful track record of participating in and excelling at baking competitions, as well as demonstrating achievements in marketing and innovation activities.
