Jesus Church

　 Introduction

The church faces the Old Town Hall across the Reuss River. It was built between 1666 and 1667, and its altar, decorated with red marble, was completed in 1681. It is also the first large-scale Baroque religious building in Switzerland. The church exterior features two striking and iconic domed decorations, which were not added until the mid-18th century and are very beautiful. The interior is lavishly decorated, especially the sacristy and treasury, which are not to be missed. Ticket/Opening Hours: Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00; Sunday, 10:00–17:00; closed on Mondays.
