GoldenPass Line

The GoldenPass Line is an engaging route that connects some of Switzerland’s most stunning lakes, including Lake Geneva, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and Lake Lucerne. It links the ancient city of Lucerne in the German-speaking region of central Switzerland with the elegant lakeside town of Montreux in the French-speaking region of the southwest. With its clear lakes, majestic Alps, peaceful pastures, and beautiful vineyards, you can enjoy a rich variety of scenery. Additionally, you can get off along the way to explore famous sights in the Jungfrau region. Moreover, this line extends from its two endpoints to Zurich and Geneva—Switzerland’s gateway cities with international airports.

The GoldenPass Line operates year-round, with the route being: Lucerne – Brünig – Interlaken – Zweisimmen – Montreux. This line consists of three railway sections: the GoldenPass Line (Brunig) section from Lucerne to Interlaken; the GoldenPass Line (BLS) section from Interlaken to Zweisimmen; and the GoldenPass Line (MOB) section from Zweisimmen to Montreux. Due to differing rail gauges, passengers need to change trains along the journey. The “perfect combination” of these three railways offers panoramic trains equipped with dining cars serving a rich selection of meals.
