Tenerife

Tenerife is the largest island in Spain's Canary Islands, covering an area of 2,053 square kilometers with a triangular shape. The island enjoys a climate known as the "Island of Eternal Spring." In the center of the island lies a 20-kilometer-wide central mountain range, with peaks over 2,000 meters above sea level, which has been declared a national park. At the center of the mountain range is a huge natural volcanic crater. On the northern side of the crater is Mount Teide, which stands at 3,718 meters and is the highest peak in all of Spain. In winter, the mountain is covered with snow, making it the island’s most unique natural attraction.

The island is covered with blooming flowers and boasts lush green mountains and clear waters. Its main crops include bananas, tomatoes, and potatoes. Most parts of the coastline consist of rocky cliffs, while some stretches feature soft golden sandy beaches. Built along the gentle slopes from the northern part of the island to the seaside, it is home to modern hotels, restaurants, snack bars, and thousands of shops of various sizes. It serves as the island’s commercial and tourism hub, earning the reputation of the “Pearl of Tourism.”

The Port of Santa Cruz on the island is situated in a wide bay surrounded by the cliffs of the Anaga mountain range. It is a key maritime hub connecting Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Ocean-going vessels from many countries around the world, especially cruise ships, arrive here year-round. It is not only Spain’s top port for commercial trade but also one of the premier ports for passing ships.
