Plaza España is situated in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands, just a few meters north of the Auditorio de Tenerife. As the largest square in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the entire Canary Islands, it was constructed in 1929 on the site of the former San Cristóbal Castle and has become a prime leisure and entertainment spot for local residents.

The square is surrounded by the Tenerife City Hall, the Palace of the Charter, and Plaza de la Candelaria. At its center stands a monument commemorating the Spanish Civil War. The most eye-catching feature of the plaza is its large artificial lake, in the middle of which sits a fountain that serves as the focal point of the square. When the fountain show is on, the plaza fills with spectators who marvel at the gracefully dancing water jets in vibrant colors. The fountains dance to the rhythm of music, constantly shifting hues and patterns, leaving visitors in awe.
