Yinde Town
Yinde Town
Yinde Town is the seat of the government of Jalaid Banner and serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of the entire banner. "Yinde" is a Mongolian term, meaning "steps" in Chinese. Yinde Town covers a total area
170
square kilometers; with a total population of
7
ten thousand, composed of
17
ethnic groups including Mongolians, Han Chinese, and Koreans. Yinde Town was first established in
1936
.

In

, the government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was established in Ulanhot; in the autumn of the same year, the government of Yinde Town was formed, officially instituting the administrative structure of Yinde Town. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially since the reform and opening-up period, urban development in Yinde has progressed significantly. Starting from
1994
, guided by the principles of “high starting point in planning, high standards in construction, and high-level management,” Yinde Town implemented five major projects: street renovation, urban water supply, sewage systems, housing projects, and scenic spot construction. This led to the formation of a well-organized urban road network with seven vertical and eight horizontal roads—each featuring its own lights and scenery—and the preliminary establishment of a garden-style town highlighted by the “one park, one river, and eight scenic spots.”
The “one park” refers to Duolan Lake Park. The “one river” is the Amin River. “Amin” is the name of the founder of the Jalaid tribe and the 17th-generation descendant of Genghis Khan. The Amin River is an artificial river, stretching
7850
meters in length, with
15
bridges built over it. Its source is the Chaoer River, and it runs north-south through the town, resembling a shining jade belt that connects the people of all ethnicities in Yinde, and like a white hada offered to guests from afar.
The “eight scenic spots” include the Yinde Iron Tower, Embracing the Future, Century Majesty, European Style Crossing East, Linear Park, Musical Fountain Square, Pine Forest Sunset, and Green Wonderland. The Yinde Iron Tower was completed in
1998

185.6
meters tall. It was designed by the Tower and Mast Research Institute of the National Radio and Television Administration’s Design Institute and constructed and installed by Qingdao Oriental Tower Group Company. It is the first cross-street four-pillar steel pipe tower in Inner Mongolia. The tower integrates functions such as broadcasting and television signal transmission, microwave communication, and tourism sightseeing. It is not only a key urban landmark in Yinde Town but also a symbol of the self-reliance, pioneering spirit, and innovation of the people of Jalaid. In July 1998, former regional leader Liu Mingzu visited Jalaid Banner and inscribed the name “Yinde Iron Tower” for the structure. “Embracing the Future” is a landmark sculpture in Yinde Town, completed in
2000
. The entire sculpture consists of a base and the main body, standing
17
meters tall. The base is a circular sloped lawn, divided into sections by four

-level steps, with
40
lawn lamps installed within the grass. The main body of the sculpture features two giant red hands holding up a rising sun. At
17
meters tall, it represents the
17
ethnic groups of Jalaid Banner, while the
40
lawn lamps symbolize the
40
million residents of the banner. The
21
steps represent the march toward the 21st century, the two giant hands signify the local Party committee and government, red stands for enthusiasm and vitality, and the sun symbolizes the future. The overall architectural concept conveys: the
17 ethnic groups and 40...
Under the leadership of the Party Committee and the government, tens of thousands of people have united as one, working together towards a bright future. Century Majesty is another sculpture located at the southern exit of Yinder Town. The main structure consists of three pillars, with the tallest standing
30
meters high, symbolizing the indomitable and pioneering entrepreneurial spirit of the Zhalait people.
European Style Crossing East is situated at the southwestern exit of Yinder Town. The main feature of this attraction is a Roman colonnade, reflecting European architectural style and symbolizing the open-mindedness and inclusiveness of the Zhalait people.
The Belt Garden is located south of Wusi Street, covering an area of approximately
5000
square meters. It features pavilions, rockeries, galleries, small sculptures, and children's play facilities, making it a great leisure spot for people to relax after meals.
Pine Forest Sunset is located at the northwestern exit of Yinder Town, covering an area of about
5000
square meters. This area is dominated by a pine forest primarily composed of juniper and Mongolian Scots pine, which remains lush and vibrant all year round. Especially in the evening, when the setting sun, sunset glow, and pine trees blend together, it creates a uniquely charming scene.
The Musical Fountain Square is situated north of the Propaganda and Cultural Center, spanning an area of
4000
square meters. It is a successful example of market-oriented development by the local Party Committee and government. The square features a musical fountain in the center, surrounded by ten colorful high-mast lights, creating a beautiful scenery and serving as an excellent venue for cultural and recreational activities for residents.
The Emerald Wonderland is located south of the middle section of Wulan Street, covering an area of approximately
5000
square meters. It mainly consists of large green spaces and a small square designed in the shape of a "longevity turtle," serving as a primary fitness and leisure destination for residents in the northeastern part of Yinder Town.
Yinder Town has not only made significant strides in municipal infrastructure construction but has also achieved historic progress in urban greening, lighting, and housing projects.
Over the past few years, a total of
18
square meters of lawns have been planted, along with
1.5
trees, bringing the urban greening rate to
20%
. On
13
main and secondary roads and
2
exit roads,
2196
streetlights,
2
high-mast lights,
3
plaza lights,
2
fireworks lights, and
14
light tunnels have been installed. Additionally, spotlights and decorative lights have been added to buildings along the streets. In 2001,
Yinder Town was designated as a "National Model for Creating Civilized Small Towns" by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and four other national departments.
