Stockholm City Hall

Stockholm City Hall (Stockholm City Hall) is the building that houses the Stockholm City Council in Sweden. The hall is located on Kungsholmen Island, where the historic Eldkvarn mill once stood.

Stockholm City Hall was designed by architect Ragnar Östberg and constructed between 1911 and 1923. The building is surrounded by two large courtyards, an outer yard, and an indoor hall, and is made up of 8 million red bricks. Ragnar Östberg originally intended to paint the indoor hall blue, hence naming it the "Blue Hall" (Blå hallen), but he later changed his mind after seeing the beautiful red bricks and decided not to paint the exterior blue. The most famous event held in the "Blue Hall" is the Nobel Prize banquet held every December after the award ceremony. The hall's organ has 10,270 pipes, making it the largest in the Scandinavian region.

The "Golden Hall" of Stockholm City Hall is adorned with over 18 million pieces of glass and gold fragments, and can accommodate 700 guests for banquets. From the tower, which stands 106 meters high, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Stockholm, with the Swedish national symbol, the "Three Crowns," at the top of the tower.
